Earlier tonight at work, something strange happened.

There was this guy came in to buy a bottle of wine. I noticed as he approached the counter that he had a very... Vintage outfit on. I assumed that it was an early Halloween costume, since itapos;s October and most people donapos;t go around dressed as 17th century French aristocrats. I complimented him ("Nice costume, by the way") on it, and got a austere "itapos;s not a costume." back. I stumbled and said something to the effect of "Well, then youapos;re a very snappy dresser.".

After heapos;d left (and Iapos;d burst out with the laughter Iapos;d been holding in) Heather told me that heapos;s a semi-regular on weeknights (when Iapos;m usually not there) Apparently heapos;s a doctor() that just likes to dress and act like that. Kind of like a goth, except with a few more degrees of stick-up-ass-edness. Always buys a French wine.

A man in that sort of garb (all black period clothing) complete with the boots and accessories must be used to odd looks.

That was easily the most surreal thing Iapos;ve had happen to me (and the best laugh, at the absurdity) in a very long time.

If I see him again, Iapos;ll ask him if he minds my taking a picture. You guys have to see this, words donapos;t do it justice.
